Workers at a cemetery in Ecuador were left scratching their heads when weird swirls inexplicably started moving around in a pool of water in front of a crypt. According to a local media report, the spooky scene unfolded earlier this month at the 183-year-old General Cemetery in the city of Guayaquil. A normally routine day at the historic site took something of an unsettling turn when workers noticed a pool of water that seemed to come alive, swirling and thrashing in a rather unusual fashion.
The moment was peculiar enough that one of the bewildered witnesses captured the curious event with their cell phone. Their video (seen below) quickly went viral on social media in Ecuador, with some viewers suggesting that a spirit was moving the water. Conversely, more skeptical observers posited that there was probably a prosaic explanation for the strangeness, such as an imperfection in the floor. The incident in Ecuador is remarkably similar to a 2024 case wherein workers at an Argentine cemetery were also flummoxed by 'ghost water' that behaved in the same fashion.
