In a wild story out of Florida, a scuba-clad man brazenly robbed a Disney riverboat restaurant and then swam away from the scene of the crime. The bizarre heist reportedly occurred late Monday evening at the popular Paddlefish eatery, a faux vessel moored on the shore of Lake Buena Vista at the spacious amusement park's Disney Springs complex. According to police, the committed crook first swam up to the restaurant and surreptitiously stashed his onerous scuba gear upon boarding the boat. The man then made his way to the manager's office, where he found two workers counting the day's cash deposit.
After tying up the pair of compliant employees, the thief took approximately $10,000 to $20,000 and exited the room. Amazingly, in a manner akin to an aquatic D.B. Cooper, the crook made his escape by putting the scuba gear back on, jumping into the lake, and swimming away. Although police investigating the case released a rather creepy image of the suspect spray painting a security camera upon his boarding of the boat, it remains to be seen if the photo contains any valuable clues, as the man was completely covered, including wearing goggles over his eyes. In a testament to the 'magic' of Disney, the restaurant opened at its regular time on Tuesday with park guests none the wiser as to what had occurred there just hours earlier.
