Video: Mexican Mayor Reveals Possible 'Goblin Remains' Found in Town

A mayor in Mexico left his constituents scratching their heads when he took to social media to showcase what he suggested could be the remains of a goblin that had been discovered by workers in the community. According to a local media report, the very strange find was revealed last month in an online broadcast (seen above) by Francisco Mayoral Flores, who presides over the town of Husca de Ocampo. Standing alongside the two men who had presumably made the discovery, the mayor held a box containing the mysterious humanoid-looking remains (seen isolated below) and explained the curious corpse had been unearthed in a disused warehouse.

In the video, Flores indicated that, although "doctors and vets have stated that it is a malformed fetus of a cat or dog," he argued that the rather diminutive remains "cannot be from an animal, since the ears, the hands, are human." Conceding that officials are uncertain as to what the oddity might be, the mayor marveled that "many people" in the community have speculated that it could be supernatural in nature. Specifically, Flores suggested that it might be a duende, which is a goblin-like creature in Latin American folklore, or a similarly mystical shapeshifting entity known as a naqual.

The mayor reportedly went on to posit that "if it had been found in another municipality, it would not have been relevant," but Husca de Ocampo just so happens to be what is known as a 'magical town' that is officially recognized by the Mexican government for its rich folkloric tradition centered around supernatural entities such as the naqual and duede. As such, Flores declared, "there is a cultural and social demand to give it importance." The town even boats a museum that is dedicated to goblins, which is where the remains are now on display while officials await the results of scientific tests which will hopefully determine its true nature.
