A group of teenage ghost hunters searching for an apocryphal haunted house in Mexico needed rescuing after their misguided expedition went wildly awry. The weird incident reportedly occurred this past Saturday evening when the nine youngsters ventured into Mexico City's massive Chapultepec Forest in the hopes of finding an abandoned home located deep in the woods. Known colloquially as 'Aunt Toña’s House,' the shuttered residence has long been the subject of urban legends alleging that it was the site of gruesome murders which vary depending on who is telling the story.
Determined to see the infamous home for themselves and perhaps experience something spooky, the group became lost in the darkness of the forest and, eventually, found themselves at the bottom of a 65-foot-deep ravine. Understandably rattled by the situation, the ghost hunters desperately tried to find an exit, but this only led to one of the teens getting trapped in a cave. Commendably, the youngsters did not abandon their comrade, instead opting to stay put and phone the police about their predicament. Rescue personnel soon arrived on the scene and arduously extracted the teens from the ravine. Fortunately, the spirit seekers came out of the misadventure unscathed, with what may wind up being another unsettling tale associated with Aunt Toña’s House.
