Residents of a Spanish community are understandably on edge after multiple people were menaced by mysterious miscreants wearing 'Scream' masks. According to a local media report, the peculiar panic is currently unfolding in the village of Águilas. The troublemakers at the center of the scare have been seen roaming the streets clad in black, hooded robes and wearing the iconic mask of the infamous 'Ghostface' villain from the 'Scream' horror film franchise. Chillingly, it appears that the ne'er-do-wells are not content with merely lingering on the sidewalks or creeping around corners, as one unfortunate resident reported a particularly chilling encounter with the delinquents.
Jésica Perez recalled how her thirteen-year-old cousin found herself targeted by the cretins not too long ago. To the girl's profound terror, the miscreants brandished a knife and chased after her until she ran to a populated area, which caused the punks to put an end to their pursuit. Upon picking her unsettled cousin up from the scene, Perez informed the police about the troubling incident. Alas, authorities indicated that they have received several reports about the reprobates, but had yet to identify them, much less catch them out causing trouble.
Increasing the fear gripping the community, eerie videos of the unnerving phantoms, filmed by residents who observed the mysterious strangers from a distance, have spread like wildfire on Spanish social media. While it would seem that the mask-clad individuals are likely just pranksters out looking for thrills like a creepy clown, residents see no humor in the situation. To that end, Perez called for increased police patrols to thwart the reign of terror that hangs over the community like a dark cloud.
