Video: Pair of Canadian Men Lament Losing Massive Sums of Money to Psychic Schemes

Two separate Canadian men have come forward with cautionary tales of handing over staggering sums of money to shady psychics. Their jaw-dropping accounts were reportedly shared with a national media outlet after they covered a similar case wherein a woman was duped into giving a self-proclaimed mystic a whopping $50,000. One victim, a Toronto resident identified as HJ, explained that his experience began with a visit to a psychic who 'diagnosed' him as being demonically possessed. As luck would have it, the mystic informed him, the sinister spirits could be removed provided he paid for the supernatural services.

The man was subsequently convinced to fork over a mind-boggling $80,000 to the psychic who promised he would subsequently win the lottery once the 'demons' were defeated. While HJ did not indicate what ultimately caused the mystic's spell to shatter, he understandably expressed considerable regret over being duped to such a degree. "I feel like an idiot. Total idiot," he lamented, "I let this thing happen to me." While it is no substitute for the massive amount of money he gave the psychic, HJ may take some solace in knowing that he is not the only person to fall victim to such schemes.

To that end, the second man who contacted the media outlet recounted an unfortunate three-year period wherein he paid three separate psychics a total of $75,000 in the hopes of improving his love life. Back on the dating scene after his wife passed away, 'Ray' recalled connecting with a woman online and turning to a mystic for insights on the potential partner. Remarkably, after the psychic charged the man $12,000 for a proverbial love spell, the couple wound up getting married. However, their relationship quickly turned sour, which led him to keep spending on various rituals, ceremonies, and consultations until he finally realized that he was being scammed.
