Video: Pilot Spots Odd UFO Over Atlantic City

By Tim Binnall

A pilot flying over Atlantic City reported a bewildering object that he suspected was trying to observe his aircraft and a passenger aboard the flight managed to capture the curious UFO on film. The remarkable case occurred back on September 16th, 2018 and came to light this week by way of an FOIA request from the website The Drive, which resulted in a wealth of information on the incident being released by the Federal Aviation Administration. In addition to a written report filed by the pilot is a fascinating recording of an interview he had with an FAA air traffic controller shortly after the sighting wherein he provided considerable detail about the encounter.

According to the witness, who is an Air Force pilot who happened to be flying a small private aircraft that day, he spotted the strange object while flying at an altitude of approximately 2,000 feet and fist suspected that the UFO could have been balloons. However, when he maneuvered the plane to get a better look at the wondrous sight, the man recalled, the mysterious UAP seemed to adjust its positioning in response. Observing a "v-shaped antenna" and something hanging from the object, the pilot speculated that it could have been a drone, but marveled that "it's so weird, I don't know, I've never seen anything like it."

The witness ultimately theorized that the craft was some kind of camera-equipped drone that was attempting to film his plane from up close. Conceding that would be a "cool video" were it not "super dangerous," the pilot's thoughts were echoed by the air traffic controller, who pointed out how the presumed UAV would also be violating "a whole bunch" of aviation regulations. Left with no other way to describe the incident, the pilot laughed that "it was a UFO sighting. It was an 'unidentified flying object.' Of course, it wasn't an alien." The air traffic controller later assures the man that he's "not the first" to report such high strangeness in the skies to the FAA.

An additional element to the case is that the report included a video (seen above) of the UFO that was captured by someone aboard the plane. Providing something of the pilot's perspective as he experienced the encounter, the object is rather hard to decipher, though its shape seems decidedly out of the ordinary. With the video being posted online, diligent UFO researchers and skeptics have set about studying the footage with the debate largely centering around whether the mysterious object is a balloon or a drone.
