A popular Seattle artist has launched an ambitious new project wherein he plans to paint a staggering 1,000 Sasquatch heads on spots throughout the city. According to a local media report, the very cool concept is the brainchild of muralist Henry, who has become a beloved fixture in the community thanks to an array of sizeable pieces he has produced over the years. In detailing his latest endeavor, the artist explained that he is enlisting the public to participate in the prodigious project by providing proverbial canvases for his work.
"I am going to paint a thousand Sasquatch heads on people's garage doors, sides of their houses, sides of businesses, any public-facing surface," Henry said, "I will pretty much go anywhere." As for why the muralist chose Sasquatch as the centerpiece of the project, the artist explained that painting the iconic cryptid is "my favorite thing to do. On a bigger scale, I kind of see it as a Pacific Northwest connection." Beyond bringing the community together via a shared love for Bigfoot, Henry also expressed hope that the endeavor will inspire other artists to dream big.
To that end, while reaching 1,000 Sasquatch heads will undoubtedly be a formidable task, the muralist mused that he is so familiar with his whimsical version of Bigfoot that "I can do this guy in my sleep" and produce around ten pieces a day. That said, finding spaces for all that artwork presents its own challenge, which is why he has called upon interested Seattle residents to join in on the fun. "I think anyone should sign up. It's a big number. It's a lot," he marveled, "I'm doing it for free or a suggested donation. I just want to include everybody."
