Video: Sizeable Piece of Suspected Space Debris Found in Minnesota Corn Field

Authorities in Minnesota find themselves with a weird mystery on their hands after a sizeable piece of suspected space debris was discovered sitting in a cornfield. Detailing the curious case in a social media post on Thursday, the Stevens County Sheriff's Office explained the weird object had been found on a farm in the community of Scott Township the previous afternoon. Deputies dispatched to the scene subsequently confirmed the presence of a "large, metallic object, approximately 11 feet in diameter." Based on what appear to be burn marks, the sheriff's office suggested that the oddity was a "space object" of unknown origin that plummeted from the sky.

To that end, they indicated that "several state and federal agencies" have been enlisted to identify the metallic anomaly and determine who might be responsible for removing it from the field. In the meantime, they stressed that the suspected space debris posed no threat to the public. Of course, the post's down-to-earth assessment of the situation did not stop some social media users from positing that the object could be a crashed UFO. While that would undoubtedly be a fantastic development to everyone except perhaps the aliens aboard the downed ship, one imagines that authorities would not have been so quick to share a photo of the 'flying saucer' in such a scenario.
