A suspected car thief in Florida offered cops a rather odd explanation for how he wound up driving the stolen vehicle: teleportation. According to a local media report, the bizarre bust occurred on Monday afternoon in the community of Ormond Beach when police responded to a call about an accident. Arriving on the scene, they encountered Calvin Johnson, who had been driving the now-smashed BMW that was quickly determined to have been stolen. When questioned as to where he got the car, the seemingly bewildered man exclaimed, "I don't know, I teleported or something."
Johnson stuck to the strange story as he continued chatting with the cops, repeating that he teleported into the car. As for how such a fantastic scenario could occur, it would appear that alleged car thief suspected that the culprit was otherworldly as he marveled to the officers that "you saved me from the aliens." Fortunately, no one was hurt in the accident that ultimately resulted in Johnson being charged with grand theft and driving without a license.
