Video: Webcam Watcher Captures First Virtual Nessie Sighting of 2026

By Tim Binnall

A diligent Loch Ness webcam watcher has laid claim to the first virtual 'monster' sighting of 2026 after spotting a peculiar hump surface from the water of the famed Scottish site. Indefatigable livestream viewer Eoin O’Faodhagain captured the observation (seen above) on the evening of Thursday, March 5th. While watching a webcam at the Clansman Hotel on the shore of Loch Ness, he noticed a sizeable "black object" seemingly bobbing up and down in the water "against the current."

Though admittedly hard to discern to the average viewer, the odd anomaly was unusual enough to the seasoned 'monster hunter' that he captured the moment with the belief that it was the first appearance of Nessie this year. Meanwhile, more skeptical observers will undoubtedly argue that the anomaly was merely something prosaic, such as a log or more commonplace wildlife known to reside at the location.
