A giant inflatable flying saucer promoting an upcoming UFO festival in Washington State just might be cursed, as the enormous 'alien craft' was struck by both thieves and a destructive dog in a matter of days. The sizeable piece at the center of the curious patch of bad luck is located in the city of Burien, which is set to host their annual UFO festival on August 16th. Placed at a dog park ahead of the big event, the flying saucer reportedly first experienced turbulence on July 11th when some sticky-fingered ne'er-do-wells made off with a $2,000 generator that had kept it inflated. "Burien isn't as safe and as warm and fuzzy as you might think," mused festival founder John White, who quickly acquired another generator to restore the UFO to its former glory.
However, the incident was merely a precursor to a subsequent strange situation a few days later when a feisty dog reportedly tore a hole in the 'craft,' entered the opening, and refused to leave. White was able to repair the damage using "advanced alien technology" and returned the pooch to its owner once the animal was bored with the 'interstellar' misadventure. With the Burien UFO Festival still a few weeks away, time will tell whether the pair of incidents was the last of the flying saucer's troubles or if the piece is doomed to be continually deflated due to some kind of cosmic curse.
