Watch: Alleged Burglar Does Yoga Before Breaking into Australian Bakery

By Tim Binnall

After falling victim to a burglar, the proprietors of an Australian bakery checked their security footage and were stunned to see the suspect doing yoga on the sidewalk moments before the break-in. According to a local media report, the weird routine was recorded on March 3rd, when Phillippa's Bakery in the community of Richmond was struck by the flexible robber who made off with an eclectic mix of odd items including shoes, cleaning supplies, an iPad, and some croissants. Upon discovering that they had been burglarized, the shop dutifully turned to their security system to get a look at the culprit and wound up amazed by the truly bizarre scene that unfolded before their eyes.

In the footage, featured above, a woman dressed in black can be seen preparing for the heist by performing a series of stretches on the sidewalk for what seems to be several minutes. "Seems like yoga is a must before breaking in," the bakery joked while sharing the video on Facebook. While the impromptu routine may have aided the burglar in stealthily robbing the shop, it did little to help in evading the long arm of the law as cops subsequently arrested a woman believed to be behind the curious caper. While it is uncertain how much time the suspect might serve in jail if convicted, perhaps she can lessen her sentence by providing yoga classes at the prison.
