A Chilean truck driver previously skeptical of the paranormal was forced to reassess his thoughts on high strangeness after an eerie incident wherein he may have driven past a ghost. The transformative event, which came to light this week, reportedly occurred early last month as the unnamed witness was cruising along the country's Route 78 highway at around 3:30 AM. The tranquility of the drive was suddenly upended when he saw a woman dressed in white standing on the side of the road. As he passed the curious figure, the trucker felt unsettled by her presence on the highway at that odd hour. However, he dutifully continued with his route rather than stop to investigate the situation.
It was only later, when he revisited his dashcam footage from the mysterious moment, that the bewildered witness began to wonder what exactly he had seen hours earlier. To his amazement, the video (seen below) appears to show only the upper half of the woman, which conflicted with the full figure he observed at the time of the incident. The incongruous nature of the footage combined with the peculiar timing of the strange sighting caused the trucker to reconsider his longstanding skepticism of the paranormal as, lacking any explanation for what unfolded that night, he was left to wonder if the woman on the side of the highway had actually been a ghost.
When the trucker's footage and account were shared on social media by Chilean paranormal researcher Carlos Martinez, it quickly went viral in the country. The man's supernatural suspicions were subsequently bolstered by another individual who shared a similar story. "I worked on the highway, and she's always shown up," read the response, "a supervisor once told us that she appeared to him all along the highway before reaching each toll booth. It happened in the early hours of the morning, and they say she was always dressed in white." The second-hand sighting was echoed by another individual who indicated that "according to local accounts, she is a young girl who died around 1920." What do you think of the trucker's footage?
