A city surveillance system in El Salvador captured footage of a puzzling UFO that appeared in the night sky over the community. According to a local media report, the strange scene was filmed last Tuesday morning in the municipality of Antiguo Cuscatlán. In the footage, featured below, the eerie aerial anomaly initially resembles a glowing flying saucer, then transforms into a ball of light as it slowly ascends in the sky. Providing something of a glimpse into the mind of the city worker tasked with manning the surveillance system, the camera zooms in and out on the UFO and also pans around the skyline as if to capture the unfathomable nature of the moment.
Nearly as remarkable as the footage itself is how it became public, as it was actually shared by the city on its official social media accounts. Explaining the circumstances behind the sighting, the post stressed that "as a municipality we are limited to reporting an unusual event, which to date lacks an official explanation." To that end, theories surrounding the UFO have fallen into the expected camps, with some suggesting the object was an otherworldly visitor and others arguing that the anomaly was something more prosaic such as a drone.
