An odd video circulating online appears to show a bipedal creature of some kind lurking near a lake in Texas and some viewers think that the strange beast could be a 'dog man.' The footage was reportedly captured six years ago in the city of San Benito by a fisherman named Ruben, who apparently only recently decided to share it with the world by way of the website 'True Horror Stories of Texas.'
According to the site, which claims that they spoke to Ruben about the sighting, the man and his friend were "fishing for some alligator gar in a small lake" when they noticed something weird at the water's edge. Although the duo initially suspected that they were watching a thirsty dog, Ruben and his friend were stunned when they saw the creature seemingly stand up on two feet.
To call the footage hard to decipher would be charitable as one is only afforded a very brief glimpse of the strange creature as it rises from the ground. In the unedited version of the video, which can be seen at the website, the two fishermen unleash a series of uneasy expletives which some viewers say is a testament to the veracity of the footage, since their bewilderment seems to be genuine.
As to the nature of the creature seen in the video, perhaps due to the testimony of the witnesses, some observers have suggested that the beast is a 'dog man,' while others have argued for the more plausible, by comparison, explanation that it was a Sasquatch. Conversely, skeptical viewers say that the whole scene was probably staged and that the 'beast' was merely someone in a costume. What's your take on the puzzling piece of footage?
