Watch: Driver Films Loch Ness Monster?

By Tim Binnall

A Scottish man driving along a highway overlooking Loch Ness believes that he may have spotted the location's legendary monster. The sighting reportedly occurred as Rory Cameron was leaving a friend's house and noticed something unusual in the iconic loch. "It was going at some speed," he recalled, "I've never seen anything like it before in my life," noting that he's driven along the busy road for 20 years and this was the first time he had such a tantalizing experience.

Cameron, fortunately, managed to capture some of the sighting on film and, although it's not a perfect piece of footage, the video does show something anomalous seemingly swimming across Loch Ness at a rather high speed. "My clip isn't like a lot of sightings, this thing was really moving fast," he observed, "and it looks tiny too, compared to some of the boats on the loch." According to Cameron, he's showed the video to a number of friends and colleagues, but no one has provided a sufficient explanation for that the oddity may have been.

Remarkably, he also revealed that the sighting was not the first time that someone in his family has seen Nessie and, in fact, his grandfather had an encounter with the creature in the 1960s. And, in a testament to the elusive nature of the monster, Cameron mused "he couldn't identify what it was back then and I'm the same now." As of yet, his report has not been added to the official Loch Ness Monster Sightings Register, but would be the 5th accepted encounter of 2019 if it does.
