Watch: Eerily Moving Wreath Causes Stir at Wake in Dominican Republic

By Tim Binnall

Mourners at a wake in the Dominican Republic were astounded when a wreath of flowers began eerily rocking back and forth seemingly by way of some unseen force. The spooky scene reportedly unfolded at a memorial service in the municipality of Villa González and footage of the eerie event popped up online over the weekend. In the video, which has gone viral on social media in the country, the wreath can be seen inexplicably and repeatedly moving on its own as a crowd of astounded mourners watch in awe and discuss the mystifying sight with one mourner proclaiming that the flowers are being moved by the deceased woman that they have gathered to remember.

As one might imagine, the video has sparked considerable discussion online with many viewers agreeing with the assessment that something otherworldly occurred at the service. Meanwhile, more skeptical observers argued that the motion was brought about by the wind or perhaps it was a clever prank. While one cannot discount that possibility, it sounds rather unfathomable as a wake would be a rather distasteful setting for such a hoax. As for the possibility that it could have been moving due to the wind, that explanation is also somewhat lacking as surely the mourners would have determined that as the cause rather quickly.
