A jaw-dropping video from China shows an elderly woman who, after inadvertently getting stuck inside her apartment, climbed six stories down the outside of the high-rise building in an ill-conceived attempt to reach the ground. The astonishing incident reportedly occurred on April 1st in Beijing when the unnamed grandmother found herself locked in her bedroom with no access to her cell phone, which was in a different part of the residence. Seemingly left with no other option, the woman clambered out of the window of her 27th-floor apartment and began descending the building by climbing down a protective covering for air conditioning units.
When workers at the building spotted the elderly daredevil outside the 26th floor, they promptly phoned the police and told her to wait for help to arrive. However, the determined woman amazingly continued her descent, climbing another five stories down before eventually becoming exhausted by the arduous endeavor. Fortunately, rescue workers were able to carefully extricate the understandably terrified woman from the perilous predicament on the 21st floor of the building. Incredibly, when she later explained how the now-viral moment came to pass, she indicated that she had planned to climb all the way down to the ground in a pursuit that, thankfully, was not put to the test.
