Multiple residents of a Colombian city were taken aback by the sight of a fiery object spotted slowly descending in the sky. According to a local media report, the curious mass sighting occurred on Monday evening at around dusk in the community of Ibagué. Several people who happened to be outside at the time found their attention drawn to an odd object that sported a long, fiery tail and seemed to be falling from the sky. Not unlike with a UFO sighting in America, many of the witnesses captured the weird scene with their cell phones and subsequently posted their videos to social media, which spawned considerable speculation as to what the anomaly could have been.
As one might imagine, many observers suggested that it was alien in nature, while more skeptical viewers posited that the anomaly had a prosaic explanation with some theorizing that it was a phenomenon known as pyroclastic flow, which occurs when a volcano erupts. That said, one would think that residents of the city would be well aware of such a seismic event if it took place at the time. Another down-to-Earth possibility is that the 'UFO' could have been an airplane coming in for a landing and that the angle of the witnesses, coupled with the light from the setting sun, gave the object an otherworldly appearance.
