A mesmerizing piece of footage from Mexico shows what appears to be an illuminated flying saucer seen over a mountain. According to a local media report, the interesting video appeared online earlier this week with the claim that it was filmed by a family in the Contry neighborhood of Monterrey. In the footage (featured above), a seemingly circular object sporting a series of lights can be seen moving through the night sky over what is said to be the mountain Cerro de la Silla. Posted alongside the video was the confounding caption "what were they doing so late? I hope everyone is okay," without providing any further context for the mysterious event.
As often happens with tantalizing UFO footage posted online, the video quickly went viral on Mexican social media and spawned debate over the nature of the wondrous scene. Some viewers marveled that the illuminated object may be otherworldly visitors checking out the iconic mountain. Of course, skeptical observers put forward more down-to-earth interpretations of the video, suggesting that the unidentified glowing object was a drone or, in a sign of the times, simply a product of AI. Meanwhile, a Mexican media outlet noted that there were no "incidents, rescues or any extraordinary situation" at the mountain which might account for the curious UFO.
