Watch: 'Ghost Bike' Filmed in British City?

By Tim Binnall

An odd piece of footage from England shows a riderless bicycle roll across a street and some suspect that it was being propelled by a ghost, though not everyone is convinced that the incident was paranormal in nature. The spooky scene was reportedly captured last week by a security camera overlooking a medieval road in the city of York known as the Shambles which is now a popular marketplace. In the footage (seen above), the barren bike emerges out of a side street and crosses a cobblestone road before hitting a curb, which causes it to topple over to the ground. Much like many potential ghost videos that wind up posted online, the response to the strange scene has been largely mixed.

Given that York is considered one of the most haunted locations in England, many viewers have posited that some kind of spirit was responsible for the bicycle's eerie ride with some suggesting that it could be connected to an infamous apparition known as the 'lost boy,' who has been seen in the city on multiple occasions. However, the way in which the bike suddenly appears from an adjoining street that is just off camera has led more skeptical observers to argue that it could have simply been pushed by a person in hopes of fabricating just such a 'ghostly' moment. With that in mind, what's your take on the perplexing footage? Is it paranormal or merely a clever prank? Weigh in with your thoughts at the C2C Facebook page.
