Watch: Ghost Filmed at Haunted British Farmhouse?

By Tim Binnall

A spooky piece of footage from a notoriously haunted farmhouse in England shows what a ghost hunter believes was a shadowy spirit fleeing from the scene. The eerie video, which surfaced this week, was reportedly filmed late last year by paranormal investigator Lottie Pschenyckyj. Curious about claims that a centuries-old farmhouse in Cheshire County was haunted, the ghost hunter visited the site to see for herself and was stunned by what she captured.

While investigating the property, Pschenyckyj and a friend heard a series of eerie sounds, including a loud bang, that left the pair understandably unsettled. When she later watched footage from the evening, the ghost hunter spotted a strange shadow that appeared to be moving away from the duo as they moved through the farmhouse. Pschenyckyj claims that, during that moment, the sound of footsteps could also be heard in a slowed-down version of the footage. "I went there to find ghosts and have a video of one," she later marveled, "so that’s a job well done."

According to Pschenyckyj, the 270-year-old farmhouse has no specific story attached to it that would explain its reputation for being haunted. That said, she explained, "everyone says the land has a very unpleasant feeling and ghosts there want you to feel scared." While that may have been the case for the paranormal investigator in the moment, looking back on the evening, she mused that "I actually feel very lucky and blessed that I’ve had this experience." As one might imagine, skeptics disagree with Pschenyckyj's assessment of what was caught on video, arguing that the 'ghost' was merely a literal trick of light and shadow.
