Watch: Ghost Spotted in TikTok Video?

By Tim Binnall

A weird piece of footage that went viral over the weekend appears to show a ghost or some kind of intruder lurking in the background of a TikTok video. The curious scene was posted online this past Saturday by a young man named Rueben. In a caption accompanying the footage, he explained that he was "home alone so I learned a TikTok dance." In the video, Rueben can be seen busting some moves to the song 'Say So' by Doja Cat.

The otherwise routine video caught fine online when viewers noticed that someone or something seems to pop up behind the young man as he dances. The eerie anomaly only appears to a few seconds, but it quickly captured the imagination of people online as the video amassed over two million hits. Some unsettled viewers theorized that the oddity was a ghost or perhaps a home intruder who had been inadvertently caught on film, while others argued that it was a clever hoax on Rueben's part.

To that end, the young man subsequently posted a followup video in which he insisted that he was home alone when recorded the video and could not offer any explanation for the weird interloper. Rueben also claimed that he has been feeling sick and unable to sleep since the video became a viral sensation over the last few days. With that in mind, what's your take on Rueben's fifteen minutes of fame? Did he record something genuinely extraordinary or was it merely a successful ruse?
