Watch: Ghostly Activity Filmed at Haunted British Pub

By Tim Binnall

Two separate instances of ghostly activity were captured by security cameras at a purportedly haunted pub in England. According to a local media report, the spooky incidents occurred at the Jamaica Inn in the city of Cornwall. In the first piece of footage, a pair of patrons can be seen sitting with their backs turned to a table when a glass of beer suddenly slides out from between them and goes crashing to the floor. The second eerie moment filmed at the allegedly haunted establishment features a worker clearing in the back when she hears the front door open and, upon seeing that no one had entered, the telephone on the wall tumbles from its base.

Staff and regulars at the pub believe that the odd events are evidence of the site's resident ghost, dubbed 'Jack,' who is said to be the spirit of a sailor murdered in the early 1900s. "We are very well known for our ghostly goings-on," manager Katy Marriot said, describing the apparition as "quite a mischievous ghost' known for pulling similar 'pranks' over the years to the point that workers are "used to things like this." To that end, she mused that the frequent unnerving incidents seem to be "his idea of fun" that the staff have learned to take in stride, though one imagines that they may not find them very amusing in the moment when they occur.
