A puzzling piece of footage out of Colombia shows a mysterious flash that lit up the night sky and sparked speculation that the eerie event could have been alien in nature. The curious incident reportedly unfolded late last month in the country's capital city of Bogota and was captured on film by a bewildered resident who had seen an inexplicable illumination in the sky moments earlier. Hoping that the anomalous event would repeat itself, the witness began filming the city skyline and discussing with friends what the weird light could have been. Their conversation is interrupted when a tremendous flash erupts and the observers simply gasp.
After being posted on social media, the video quickly went viral in Colombia with many people claiming that they had also seen the weird flash. As for what the odd illumination could have been, given the tenor of our times, some have understandably theorized that it was some kind of UFO. More skeptical viewers suggested that the flash was related to earthquake lights, while others argued that it was simply a transformer exploding somewhere in the city. While that would seem to be the most likely explanation, it has yet to be confirmed by authorities in Bogota who would presumably know if such an event had happened.
