An Indian city has been gripped by a strange mystery in the form of four rather sizeable stones that suddenly appeared floating in a pond. According to a local media report, the puzzling sight was first noticed on Tuesday morning in the community of Gaya when a resident spotted the odd rocks bobbing atop Ramsagar Pond. The wondrous sight sparked something of a frenzy in the city as crowds of people soon began gathering around the water to observe the eerie objects and offer theories as to their nature.
The floating stones proved to be so captivating that when a person managed to pluck one from the pond, people rushed over and offered reverence to the rock, which one witness estimated to weigh approximately four pounds. Although the mystifying object was put back into the water, a peculiar pattern subsequently emerged wherein it was repeatedly removed and then returned to the pond by curious onlookers wishing to hold the oddity for themselves.
Given the seemingly inexplicable manner in which the rocks sat atop the pond, many visitors expressed belief that the floating stones were mystical and some suggested that they were a divine message to build a temple at the center of the watery site. That said, within the crowd were some skeptical individuals who argued that the rocks were not particularly special at all and were likely just lightweight construction materials that some careless person had dumped in the pond.
