A baffled witness in China captured footage of a puzzling diamond-shaped UFO spotted within a cloud over a city. The intriguing sighting reportedly occurred on the evening of August 5th in Sichuan province. In the video (featured above), the rather sizeable anomaly stands in stark contrast to the large white cloud that surrounds it. Sharing the strange scene on Chinese social media, the man who filmed the footage insisted that it was "an authentic, raw recording" and indicated that "so far, no other eyewitness footage has surfaced online, and no one else captured the moment it vanished."
Expressing an eagerness to solve the mystery, the man lamented that "I am just an ordinary citizen and lack the authority to request access to nearby public surveillance footage," which could provide a better look at the oddly-shaped UFO. Fearful that the moment could be "lost forever" because such systems only retain a limited amount of data, the witness requested other Chinese social media users to share the footage in the hopes that it would "catch the attention of the relevant authorities so they can review the nearby surveillance footage as soon as possible and identify the object."
As of this writing, it would appear that the man's call to action has proven fruitless, with no word from Chinese authorities as to the nature of the curious UFO. Of course, that has not stopped people from speculating online. Some have suggested the anomaly was an otherworldly visitor, perhaps trying to hide within a cloud, and others have argued that the perceived craft was merely a meteorological effect and not something otherworldly.
