A doorbell camera in California captured the strange moment when a clever porch pirate donned a trash bag disguise and snatched a package from outside the residence. According to a local media report, the weird incident occurred last Friday at the home of Omar Munoz in the city of Sacramento. Receiving an alert from his home security system, the recent arrival to the neighborhood was left scratching his head when he looked to see what triggered the camera and saw a trash bag slowly shuffling up to the house.
Although he initially thought the oddly dressed individual was partaking in some kind of prank, the homeowner quickly realized the purpose of the visit as the sticky-fingered ne'er-do-well proceeded to take a package from his doorstep. The thief then crept away from the scene with the sort of careful gait one might expect from a person wearing a trash bag and presumably unable to see very far. While a bit irritated by the porch pirate, Munoz couldn't help but express amusement over the miscreant's curious costume, musing that "at the end of the day, it was kind of funny."
