An Oregonian man was left scratching his head when he spotted several inordinately bright orbs floating across the sky over the city of Portland. The peculiar sighting, shared with the National UFO Reporting Center, occurred on the evening of October 9th when the witness first noticed the eerie illuminations out on the horizon. Indicating that the orbs appeared to be hovering over downtown Portland, the man marveled that they remained stationary in the sky for an hour before they "floated off to the south, one by one." Remarkably, the witness recalled that "a couple minutes later, two more appeared in the same spot and hovered for another hour."
The strange sighting understandably left the man puzzled as a check of a flight tracking app showed no air traffic that could account for the curious illuminations. Providing some additional details from his observations, the witness reported that the UFOs "appeared to be no higher than 5000 feet" and did not sport red or green lights that one would expect to see on a conventional aircraft. Beyond that, the lengthy period of time that the orbs stayed fixed in the sky would seem to preclude planes flying into or departing from the city's airport. As for what the weird lights could have been, theories offered by viewers include lanterns, drones, or, of course, aliens. What do you make of the strange scene?
