A strange video from China shows the moment when a humanoid robot was taken into police custody after startling an elderly woman. The bizarre incident reportedly occurred earlier this month in the city of Macau when the unnamed 70-year-old resident was walking down the sidewalk and stopped to check her phone. To her consternation, the woman discovered that she was being trailed by a humanoid robot, which was lingering behind her in an ominous fashion that she found rather unsettling.
In footage of the odd encounter (seen above), the woman can be heard yelling "you're making my heart race" at the automaton before asking the humanoid, "are you freaking crazy?!" Police watching the weird war of words eventually intervened, escorting the robot away from the resident, who was taken to the hospital for feeling "unwell," but was ultimately unscathed by the uncanny run-in. After being 'arrested,' the automaton was returned to its operator, a man working at a neighboring educator center, who was told to be more careful in his deployment of the device.
