A pair of clever miners in Russia managed to go viral on social media after creating a video wherein they claimed to have unearthed a mysterious statue of a fallen angel. The weird case reportedly began last week when a TikTok user posted footage of the two men marveling over the sculpture, which depicts an eerie-looking crouched figure brandishing a shield and sporting an enormous set of wings. The miners explain that the statue had been unearthed at a gravel pit where they were working and that the piece emitted an unnerving energy which they could feel within their bodies. They subsequently claimed that the sculpture was taken away by authorities upon learning of its discovery.

The odd video soon spread like wildfire on social media with people sharing all manner of theories as to the origins of the strange statue, including that it was a genuine fallen angel that had somehow gotten petrified long ago. However, a representative from the mining company stepped forward to throw cold water on such speculation. While he did not offer any explanation for where the statue had come from, he indicated that it had been sitting around the work site for some time and that the two men simply weaved a fantastic tale about how it had been found. It is uncertain if the miners will be punished for the prank, which one imagines they never expected to garner so much attention.
