Watch: Security Camera Captures Australian Burglar Bizarrely Dancing Before Break-In

By Tim Binnall

Security footage from an Australian school shows the bizarre moment when a burglar burst into dance before breaking into the building and stealing thousands of dollars worth of electronics. The strange case, which came to light this week, reportedly occurred in the early morning hours of April 23rd in the community of Sunbury. In the security footage, featured above, the proverbial boogie-woogie bandit can be seen pulling into the school's parking lot, exiting his car, and then dancing for nearly a minute before finally commencing with the caper.

Police say the burglar ultimately made off with three laptop computers and a projector with the total haul valued at around $5,000. While the community is understandably dismayed by the incident, some residents couldn't help but chuckle at the thief's antics. "I thought it was hilarious,' one man said, ribbing the crook by suggesting "he stole the laptops to learn how to dance." That amusement was shared by another resident who mused "a bit funny isn't he? A bit stupid."

To that end, the burglar's elaborate dance moves could ultimately prove to be his undoing as the security footage of his peculiar performance spread like wildfire after police released the video on Wednesday. As such, it is likely only a matter of time before someone recognizes the crook, especially since he foolishly did not bother to conceal his identity during the caper. Should authorities track down the troublemaker, the impromptu dance may wind up having him singing the blues.
