Watch: Security Guard Films Ghost Child at Shopping Center in Mexico?

By Tim Binnall

A security guard patrolling a shopping center in Mexico captured footage of what appears to be a young child wandering around a play area long after the establishment had closed and some suspect that the youngster seen in the video could be a ghost. The eerie incident reportedly occurred late last month at the Plaza San Diego in the city of Cholula. While walking around the facility, the site's night watchman began filming a playground and, as he panned his cell phone over the barren equipment, suddenly caught sight of what seemed to be a child. Perturbed by what he had seen, the security guard turned the spooky footage over to the shopping center, which promptly posted it online.

The video went viral on social media in Mexico with some suggesting that the child in the video might possibly be a ghost, while others argued that the footage was probably a marketing stunt by the plaza. To that end, the shopping center's marketing director later insisted that the scene was genuine and indicated that staff initially launched a search for the potentially lost child until they realized that there was no one in the establishment besides the security guard. The assertion will likely do little to convince skeptical viewers who might be wondering why the watchman was filming an empty playground in the first place.
