An eerie piece of footage out of Mexico features the moment when a security guard searching for a possible intruder suddenly hears a child crying and many believe that the source of the unsettling sound is a ghost. According to a local media report, the unnerving video was filmed by a night watchman at the Plaza de la Tecnología in the city of Monterrey. Alerted to something unusual in the otherwise empty building, the guard walks around calling out for the interloper and explaining that the site is closed. After several seconds, he finally receives something of an answer and it is positively chilling.
In what one imagines was a truly terrifying experience, the silence of the scene is suddenly shattered by the sound of a child desperately crying from what seems to be the end of a hallway, though there is no one there. Possibly considering a new line of work, the guard simply responds "good night" and the footage ends with no resolution. Since being posted on TikTok earlier this week, the video has amassed a staggering two million views with some suggesting that the watchman filmed the cries of a ghost child, while others argued that the scene is a clever hoax.
