Watch: Sizeable Black Smoke Ring in Sky Confounds Kansas Motorcyclist

By Tim Binnall

An amusing video from Kansas shows the moment when a mystified motorcyclist was stopped in his tracks at the sight of an eerie black smoke ring that hovered in the sky. Witness Frankie Camren reportedly captured the curious scene on Monday afternoon while cruising down a road near his home in the community of Bonner Springs. The normally routine ride took a wondrous turn for the biker when he noticed the large black ring overhead and, baffled by what he was seeing, pulled over to film the weirdness with his cell phone.

Expressing astonishment at the oddity, he declared, "I'm not using no app" before marveling, "I have never seen anything like that in my life." Camren's comical commentary continued with him musing, "that is just weird," as the circle of smoke slowly dissipates in the sky. While whimsically watching the scene from the side of the road, the biker was joined by an equally perplexed couple who also pulled over to see about the unusual aerial formation.

Asked what it was, he indicated to the pair that had "no idea" and recounted how "it was a dark black circle and now its dissipating. I mean, it looks like somebody blew a big ol' smoke ring." Camren and the couple subsequently shared a laugh over the uncanny event that caused them all to convene at the side of the road. As for what created the sizeable circle, it was almost certainly brought about by an explosion nearby. While the mystery of the moment may have been short-lived, the biker did enjoy his proverbial fifteen minutes of fame after the funny video went viral on social media.
