A very weird video from Chile shows the moment when a pair of hikers seemingly stumbled upon a strange bipedal creature that appeared to be watching them from atop a hill. According to a local media report, the curious sighting occurred on the morning of December 31st as two friends were ascending a site known as Cerro de la Virgen in the city of Talca. As the duo neared the summit, one of the hikers turned to film the skyline below them. When he spun the camera back around, their peaceful morning adventure suddenly took an unsettling turn as he spotted a dark figure emerge from behind a tree at the top of the hill.
In the video, which can be seen below, the mysterious bipedal being creeps out into the open in a manner reminiscent of an ape. The shocked witness alerts his friend to the eerie interloper and then they attempt to find the figure, but it is nowhere to be found when they arrive at the top of the hill. As one might imagine, the hikers' footage sparked considerable debate on Chilean social media with some wondering if the oddity was some kind of exotic or supernatural creature, while others dismissed the footage as merely a clever hoax.
