Watch: Toddler Greets Grandmother's Ghost?

By Tim Binnall

A spooky piece of footage from Scotland shows a toddler greeting what seems to be an unseen presence and his dad suspects that the 'visitor' was the ghost of the boy's great grandmother. The eerie incident reportedly occurred early last month in the home of Jamie Bonnett as he was putting his two-year-old son Loki to bed. Their usual evening routine took an odd turn when the boy suddenly spotted something across the room and asks his dad "who's that? Although Jamie tries to get the youngster to ignore what he initially thought was just a lampshade, the tot remains transfixed by whatever had caught his eye.

Chillingly, Loki continues asking who it is that he is looking at and even waves as the 'presence' while also saying hello to it. Hoping to distract the youngster and perhaps break the spell he is under, his dad tickles him and causes the boy to unleash a peal of laughter. However the respite turned out to be brief as, after giggling, the tot immediately goes back to greeting the unseen visitor, which leads his dad to uneasily wonder "who are you saying 'hi' to" before begging the youngster to stop and then trying to convince Loki that no one is there in the room with them. Looking back on the odd moment with his son, Jamie believes that the boy might have actually seen a familiar spirit that night.

According to the astounded dad, Loki was particularly close with his great grandmother, who passed away earlier this year from cancer and promised to watch over the family from the 'other side.' Given the youngster's usually shy disposition, Jamie posited that only a close family member could have elicited such a friendly response from the tot, which led him to conclude that the toddler could have been seeing his late great grandmother. What do you think of the unnerving video? Did the spirit of Loki's great grandmother return to say hello or was the moment merely a product of the youngster's imagination?
