Two separate witnesses in Japan were left scratching their heads after both spotted mysterious glowing objects hovering over the ocean. According to a local media report, the intriguing dual sighting occurred on Monday evening. Businessman Izumi Furuhazu was walking along Hyakuna Beach in Nanjo City when he noticed something unusual in the sky that was unlike anything he had seen before during his daily visits to the location. "There was a light above the horizon, and it seemed to be burning," he recalled, "so I suspected an aircraft accident." However, his assessment was soon upended when a second sizeable orb joined the UFO in the sky.
Furuhazu marveled that the sighting lasted a whopping 20 minutes, during which he managed to capture footage (seen above) of the wondrous scene. Japanese astronomer Takeshi Miyaji, who was enlisted to examine the video, dismissed the possibility that the objects were celestial, explaining that "there are no stars in the southeast at this time of the day." Interestingly, while he speculated that the objects could have been helicopters performing a training exercise, the Japanese Coast Guard squashed that suggestion, indicating that they were unaware of any aircraft operating in that location during the time of the sighting.
Compounding the curious nature of the case, at around the same time as Furuhazu's sighting, a therapist in nearby Okinawa City also spotted a series of mysterious orbs that appear to have been the same objects that captivated the businessman in Nanjo City. Witness Yuko Takahashi captured footage (seen here) of three lights that appeared and disappeared before vanishing after around 20 minutes. Musing that the length of time they hovered in the sky would seem to preclude the objects being planes, he was left with no answer for what he was watching, ultimately declaring that "it's a UFO."
