A webcam overlooking a lagoon in Mexico captured footage of a puzzling illumination zipping over the water. According to a local media report, the weird moment occurred Tuesday evening at Lake Bacalar in the state of Quintana Roo. The brief but bewildering scene was subsequently shared online by the group Webcams de Mexico, which has previously highlighted similarly puzzling cases of possible UFO activity caught on livestreams overlooking landmarks in the country.
In the footage (featured below), an unusual object suddenly zips past the camera. When the scene is slowed down, the anomaly appears to be remarkably long. Some viewers have suggested the oddity flying over the lagoon was a UFO or, in a delightful paranormal throwback, an instance of the 'rod phenomenon.'
