A wild video from a California restaurant shows the moment when workers were forced to wrangle a dancing humanoid robot that had started causing a ruckus. The strange scene, filmed and shared online earlier this week by an amused patron, reportedly occurred at the Cupertino location of the popular hot pot chain Haidilao. In the footage (featured above), the robot's normally benign dancing takes a troubling turn when the automaton begins smashing a table with its arms, sending food, dishes, and chopsticks flying as onlookers gasp in amazement.
A staff member quickly swoops in to stop the robot, but the automaton with a fittingly sassy bib proves to be too much for one person to handle as it continues dancing while she attempts to bring it under control. The humorous humanoid was eventually shut down after three workers intervened in the odd situation. In response to the weird moment at their Cupertino restaurant, Haidilao blamed the incident on the robot being "brought closer to a dining table at a guest’s request, which is not its typical operating setting," rather than the machine malfunctioning.
