Dr. Anne Seifert

Dr. Anne Seifert is an epidemiologist, author, and speaker. Her first book discusses marriage, "His, Mine, and Ours: A guide to keeping marriage from ruining a perfectly good relationship”, a revolutionary approach receiving national attention and challenging tradition. Today the book is a classic among feminist writings. She holds an M.A. in psychology from Smith College and a Ph.D. In epidemiology from the University of California at Berkeley.

Dr. Anne has focused on public health issues most of her career conducting research at the Harvard School of Public Health in nutrition and Columbia University in population studies. Her work in epidemiology however reached a turning point after she became Co-Investigator of a National Institutes of Health study of over 2,000 participants to understand how healthy people stay healthy. For more than 30 years she has focused on the prevention of chronic disease. Her writings give a blueprint for adopting good lifestyle habits including weight control. She offers a relatively easy program for people to learn to eat well, and was the first to develop a food based program using the hand to gauge portions. She is a researcher at heart, driven by curiosity, and a public health advocate for personal as well as social well-being
