Convincing Stories

Date

Hosted byGeorge Noory

During Open Lines, George played the role of skeptic and offered a 'Convince Me' hotline for callers who thought they could persuade him that their stories were true. One caller attempted to convince George in the reality of heaven, but his arguments did not satisfy the Coast host.

Another caller presented a persuading and touching story about the loss of a loved one and the possibility of an afterlife. Eight years ago as his father lay dying in a hospital, the caller explained, a beam of sunlight broke through the overcast sky and shone on his father's bed. The caller said his father died a few moments later just as the beam of light vanished. The experience allowed him to believe in life after death, the caller noted. George agreed.

Dave from Lake Cooper, New Jersey shared an unsettling experience he had after moving into his new apartment. He said he was awakened in the middle of the night, unable to move, and could hear the music of 'The First Noel.' According to Dave, the old building was once a piano factory where a fire broke out long ago, killing several employees on a Christmas Eve.

Several callers shared stories about guardian angels. One caller said she survived being struck by a train. She said photos of the accident scene show a large white light, possibly an angel, where the car was hit. The caller believes she spoke with a higher power after her accident and was sent back to continue her work.

The Year of '8'

In the 1st hour, numerologist Glynis McCants discussed the year of '8'. McCants said August would be a very difficult month because of "double '8' energy," ('8' for August and '8' for 2006). She was particularly worried that people would be victims of some as yet unknown event this month.

McCants examined the numbers related to the Hezbollah-Israel conflict. Despite the UN-brokered ceasefire, she said the conflict was not going away and that something major could happen between Hezbollah and Israel by the end of August. McCants also talked about the trouble cycles associated this year with Mel Gibson, Tom Cruise and Dick Cheney.
