Angel Encounters / Evolution Theories

Date

Hosted byRichard Syrett

Some believe angels to be spirit guides or benefactors, while others see them as protectors. Allie Anderson and Donna Howell, experts of all things angelic, joined Richard Syrett (Twitter) to discuss myths about angels, their role in human culture, and stories of angelic interventions. Humans do not become angels when they die, angels cannot be summoned, and they do not hear our prayers, Anderson explained. Everyone does not have a guardian angel, though angels are charged by God to watch over us, she added. Howell outlined the various angelic members of the celestial order, pointing out the word angel means messenger and they appear as regular humans doing God's bidding in the Bible.

The two women shared reports of people who believe they had encounters with angels. In one account, a UPS driver named Jimmy Jones pulled his vehicle over to take cover under a roadway overpass as a severe storm ravaged the area. Jones crawled up to shelter himself from the tornadic winds and found a remarkably calm man sitting there and not holding onto anything, despite Jones having to hold on for his life. In another report, a man named Brian Duvall found himself pinned to the ground when his riding mover rolled over onto him. Duvall claimed to see vibrant colors and a figure in his periphery that told him step-by-step what he needed to do to get out of his predicament. Founder of SkyWatchTV, Tom Horn, had his own angelic intervention in the parking lot of his church when something invisible caught an attacking demon-possessed man mid-air and threw him backward, Anderson revealed.

Followed by Jeffrey Lyons, professor from Hawaii Pacific University, who has argued that evolution cannot explain human language, and that the advent of human communication was never observed by a single Darwinist. Lyons contends that evolution is a strictly materialist and reductionist theory. According to Lyons, macroevolution is merely storytelling, a metaphysical research project that cannot be proven empirically. "The larger picture of evolution is quite frankly not science at all," he said, noting scientists do not even agree on the details of evolution.

There is no evidence for the spontaneous generation of life, Lyons continued. "A cell is so complex there is no human being on Earth who can create it," he noted. Another issue for evolutionists revolves around the incredibly complex biological code in DNA. The code appears to have been designed, Lyons suggested. As an example, he pointed to the building blocks of proteins, amino acids. At the molecular level all amino acids twist to the left, which is something scientists cannot explain with evolution. Lyons also spoke about the significant problems evolutionists have explaining how single cells became multi-cellular organisms. All of this for Lyons means it is impossible for life to have come about by chance on Earth.
