In the first half, guest host Ryan Wrecker (email) will speak with author Carlos Acevedo about the movie The Exorcist, one of the most controversial films ever released. Acevedo will go beyond the myths to examine the original possession case that inspired the novel, the national uproar the movie caused, and the dark, real-world effects the film had on the American public. In the second half, veteran and former wildlands firefighter James Szubski will discuss eyewitness accounts of high strangeness in the Columbia River Gorge. He'll talk about many strange happenings in the area, including stories of a local cryptid known as the Klickitat Ape Cat, which he has personally encountered. He'll also explain how, after hearing so many strange tales from this area, he started the Paranormal Reporting Program that has documented more than 450 reports of eerie happenings.
6-10pm PT: Art Bell—Somewhere in Time returns to 8/6/01 when ghost investigators Brendan Cook and Barbara McBeath shared EVPs and possible voices from the Other Side.
