'Asparamancer' Reveals 2026 Forecast

By Tim Binnall

A popular British psychic medium who forecasts the future using asparagus has issued her predictions for 2026. Jemima Packington has gained some measure of fame in her country thanks to her unorthodox divination method, which involves throwing the vegetables in the air and interpreting the patterns they form upon hitting the ground. Dubbed the Aparamancer, the fortune teller has been credited with predicting Donald Trump's presidential victory in 2016 and the 2022 death of Queen Elizabeth. As has become tradition in early January, Packington recently cast her asparagus with an eye on what might unfold in the new year.

Among Packington's vegetable-based visions for 2026 are reportedly a General Election in the UK that will lead to a "regime change" and, similarly, "a massive swing to the Democrats" in the US midterm elections. The fortune teller also predicted "health scares" for the Royal Family and the arrest of a "former member of the Royal Household." On the entertainment front, the Asparamancer foresees music resembling the "more jazzy Swing era of the 1940s and 1950s" soaring in popularity as K-Pop falls out of favor with the public. Similar to previous years, Packington's 2026 forecast features several fairly vague visions that will likely be open to interpretation as to their accuracy at the end of the year.

Among those predictions are "more flooding in the UK," a "tremendous" showing in the World Cup for England, and the surprising "deaths of showbiz and pop nobility" in 2026. To that end, at the start of 2025, the Asparmancer foresaw jittery stock markets, "more trials and tribulations" for the Royal Family, and scandals surrounding social media influencers, all of which came to pass, but also largely occur every year. Of the specific predictions put forward by Packington last January, Liverpool FC appeared to fulfill her vision of the team winning an "important title" when they captured the Premier League Championship. Meanwhile, in what must be classified as a 'miss,' President Trump seemingly did not suffer a "major health scare" in 2025.
