Italian authorities are investigating claims that creepy clowns have been seen roaming around a community. According to a local media report, the strange situation came to light on Monday evening when a woman in the town of Tarzo posted a photo of a haunting harlequin standing in the middle of a well-known road in the village and recounted running into the ne'er-do-well hours earlier. The unsettling account was subsequently echoed by other residents who reported seeing a pair of similarly dressed ne'er-do-wells lurking in Tarzo at around the same time on Monday night. Cops alerted to the eerie sighting quickly descended upon the scene, but found no sign of any creepy clowns.
Be that as it may, the alleged sightings sparked considerable speculation in the community. Some residents theorized that the clowns were trouble-making teenagers, but more skeptical residents pointed to peculiarities with the woman's photo and suggested that it could have been an AI image similar to the Cat in the Hat craze from earlier this year. Of course, that would not explain the other sightings reported by residents. The chatter in the community was significant enough for the mayor of Tarzo to weigh in on the matter, assuring residents that police are investigating the curious case in the hopes of determining if creepy clowns are genuinely running around the town or if it is all a bit of post-Halloween hysteria.
