President Trump Responds to Pentagon Release of UFO Videos

The official release of three UFO videos by the Pentagon earlier this week spawned headlines around the world and has now even garnered a response from President Trump. The comments reportedly came at the end of an interview with Reuters that was conducted on Wednesday. As the conversation came to a close, the president was asked what he thought of the fantastic footage. "I just wonder if it's real," Trump replied, "that's a hell of a video."

Unfortunately, it would appear that the president did not have any other thoughts on the matter. That said, he expressed somewhat similar skepticism last year when asked about the same Navy footage, telling George Stephanopoulos that, although he trusted that the pilots witnessed something out of the ordinary, "people are saying they're seeing UFOs. Do I believe it? Not particularly." In a later interview last summer, Trump touched on the subject again, musing to Tucker Carlson that "I'm not a believer, but, you know, anything's possible."

Meanwhile, the president was not the only prominent politician to weigh in on the footage. Responding to the news on Twitter, former Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid wrote "I'm glad the Pentagon is finally releasing this footage, but it only scratches the surface of research and materials available. The U.S. needs to take a serious, scientific look at this and any potential national security implications. The American people deserve to be informed."
