Chaos erupted at a Wisconsin restaurant when a raccoon fell through the ceiling and subsequently bit a patron who tried to wrangle the rambunctious critter. According to a local media report, the wild incident occurred on Sunday evening at the posh Ristorante Brissagoin in the city of Lake Geneva. The normally routine dinner service at the upscale eatery came to a sudden stop when a raccoon plummeted from the ceiling and landed with a thud amid a packed dining room full of stunned guests. Rather than run away after regaining its bearings, the animal had the opposite response as it quickly turned aggressive, causing understandable panic among the patrons.
Matt Snorek, a wildlife control worker enlisted to help contain the creature, recalled that "it was quite a large raccoon" and indicated that "this thing was brawling, scratching, and hissing" at the restaurant guests for nearly a half hour before he arrived on the scene. During what likely felt like an interminable wait, one daring guest tried to wrangle the animal himself, but soon learned why such a job is best left to the professionals as the trash panda brazenly bit the man before dashing off into a different part of the restaurant. Fortunately, Snorek and deputies from the Walworth County Sheriff’s Office were eventually able to capture the creature and took the bitten man to the hospital for medical attention.
