Video: Massive Pipe Bursts Over 30 Feet Through Road in Japanese City

By Tim Binnall

Traffic in a Japanese city experienced an unexpected snag earlier this week when a massive pipe burst a staggering 32 feet through a road overnight. The bizarre incident reportedly came to light on Wednesday morning when Osaka residents noticed concrete debris scattered around the sudden obstruction that measured nearly 12 feet in diameter. City officials indicated that the pipe's peculiar presence in the middle of the road was the result of a sewer project mishap. Workers were eventually able to sink most of the sizable cylinder back into the ground by filling it with water, and the remainder of the metal tube was subsequently removed, allowing traffic to resume.
